Aquisition of toy company will help Bandai promote it's own toy line.
BANDAI announced that it has purchased the Japanese toy company, TSUKUDA ORIGINAL on July 16. BANDAI acquires all of TSUKUDA ORIGINAL's stock since July 15. The acquisition price is not clarified and business in the new system will be started in October.
A toy enterprise is strengthened with long seller items, such as "Othello", a "Rubix Cube", etc. which TSUKUDA original has. Bandai wants to expand their business by utilizing the toy making know how Tsukuda Original. It is supposed that joint development goods will be put on the market within the year.
TSUKUDA original was established as the manufacturing department of TSUKUDA in 1974. Besides Othello and the Rubix Cube, "Slime" and air compression type water gun "Air Water Gun" series is sold.
