Conference will cover gaming that doesn't involve the use of a gun for once.
Software developers, tech industry leaders, and avid gamers gather for the second annual Christian Game Developers Conference, to be held on the campus of Cascade College in Portland, Oregon, July 22-25.
Faster technology, talented programmers, and a growing number of platforms have helped fuel the expansion of the $9 billion-a-year electronic gaming industry. With this growth comes a desire for more games that promote Christian faith and values. This month’s conference will bring together people with the talent and tools to take advantage of the waiting market.
“Considering the big picture, more than half the world population refers to themselves as Christian, three billion plus,” said Kevin Johnson, director of the Intel Communications Alliance, who is among the speakers scheduled for the conference. “Family-based Christian-based gaming has a sizable market opportunity to capture.”
