GameCube the best-seller the week of Nov. 18?

Another sales estimate subject to interpretration.

Credit Suisse First Boston (CSFB) reports that Nintendo sold more than 469,000 GameCube units during its first weeks of sales, based on premature NPD TRSTS sales data. Comparatively, an estimated 186,000 Xbox units were sold the same week, leading MANY sites to announce "GameCube was the best seller of the week." My only comment on that statement is "no duh" -- Xbox's initial batch was sold out a few days earlier, so of course they wouldn't sell as many with a depleted stock. I suppose we'll have to wait a bit longer to hear concrete launch results we can really believe.
