Get $5 off your Pikmin purchase

Thanks to a mailed-in coupon from Nintendo.

Yesterday, I received a nifty colourful pamphlet promoting and advertising the features in Pikmin. Besides the pretty pictures, story introductions, an interview with the game's designers, and a section that glorifies Shigeru Miyamoto, it included a coupon that cuts $5 off your retail purchase of Pikmin -- which is nice for those of us who haven't picked it up yet.

These Pikmin pamphlets were sent out to Nintendo Power subscribers and GameCube system customers who registered their address/info with Nintendo. The lesson here: if you register your game purchases, the game companies *might* give you cool stuff. Goto www.nintendogamecube.com/register if you haven't registered yet, but beware, you might be placed in their emailing list.

I wonder if anyone remembers those VHS preview tapes for N64...
