GLEN COVE, NY, February 1, 2002 - Delivering a mighty, 1-2 combination of arcade action and boxing fun, Acclaim Entertainment, Inc. (NASDAQ.SC: AKLM), today announced that it will release Punch King, a new boxing game for the Game Boy® Advance in the spring. Punch King is being developed by Full Fat, the heralded developer of the Company's premier Game Boy® Advance title, Dave Mirra Freestyle BMX(TM) 2, which has been extremely well received by consumers and the media.
"Punch King will deliver great arcade gameplay and many exciting features, that will appeal to a broad spectrum of consumers," said Evan Stein, Vice President of Brand. "Boxing continues to be a perennial favorite among gamers and we're thrilled to expand upon our diverse sports offerings."
Punch King for the Game Boy® Advance will include: - 18 unique fighters, the most ever in a hand-held boxing game; - Individual fighter styles and attributes; - Combo punching action, delivering bone-crunching attacks; - Color commentary and catch phrases for each fighter; - Create-A-Boxer Mode, allowing players to create their own title contender; - Career Mode, including winning fight purses and purchasing new combos and special moves to K.O. opponents; - Home arenas for each fighter, including individual theme music; - Simultaneous Head-to-Head multi-player link action.
Punch King will be available for the Game Boy® Advance in the spring at a suggested retail price of $29.99. |
