Nintendo shows off a batch of new media revealing some gameplay details.
Nintendo released new screen shots of Mario's next adventure at this year's D.I.C.E Summit in Las Vegas. A couple of these screens have been recently previewed to European press, but we now have better hi-rez versions of them. One small screen was sent exclusively to recipients of NOA's online newsletter, showcasing Mario running from a large Piranha Plant. The rest of the screens feature a multi-armed sea monster, Mario climbing a palm tree "Mario 64 style", Mario tight-rope walking, Mario using his water cannon on Piranha Plants (seemingly growing from the dark ooze), and Mario climbing on a Super Mario World-inspired fence (with rotating door). These screens indicate the game is using some kind of motion-blurring technique in addition to field-depth effects. Checkout the colourful plumber below.
