Nintendo console is stagnating in the light of more popular gaming alternatives.
NDP Group released figures this week that show Nintendo's Gamecube gaming console is in a distant 5th place in terms of market share. Sony's PS2 leads the market with a 31% share of all gaming console sales, while the original PSX is in second place with a 26% share of the market. This gives Sony a 57% overall share (over half) of the market compared to Nintendo's 21% (Gameboy Advanced and Gamecube combined) share. Microsoft Xbox's is at 4th on the list with 9%.
Experts attribute Nintendo's slow sales due to a glut of "kiddy" software and a lackluster selection of gaming titles overall when comapred to the systems chief competitors, the Sony PS2 and the Microsoft Xbox.
Nintendo had no comment at this time pertaining to their slow sales.
