Nintendo Co. today raised the group profit forecast for its financial year which ended in March—largely due to recent weakening of the yen.
The company is now eyeing a group net profit of 110 billion yen (approximately $837 million U.S.), up from previous estimates which had profit pegged at 80 billion yen (approximately $608 million U.S.).
Nintendo, however, lowered its group sales outlook to 550 billion yen (approximately $4.2 billion U.S.) from an original target of 580 billion yen (approximately $4.4 billion U.S.), due to a price cut in its Game Boy Advance handheld, as well as software delays for its GameCube console.
