Gamecube may have online capability by the end of next year.
A Reuters report quotes an unnamed source as stating that Nintendo Co. Ltd. will unveil plans for Internet-based gaming at the upcoming E3Expo.
Nintendo themselves have been silent on the subject and at times even disinterested so this should be good news for Cube owners who have been asking themselves why they bought this system in the first place.
The GameCube has three unused ports on its underside, one of which could easily accept an add-on modem or broadband adapter.
Sony Computer Entertainment America (SCEA) and Microsoft Corp. are also expected to announce major online gaming initiatives at this year’s E3.
