Rare buyout?

Microsoft may be hours away from buying out one of Nintendo's most valuable allies.

A Dow Jones report today contains a quote from Nintendo Co., in regard to swirling rumors regarding a possible sale of game developer Rare Ltd. to Microsoft Corp.

Nintendo, which has an ownership in the UK-based developer, denied reports that it was willing to sell its stake in Rare, adding “hypothetically, the company (Nintendo) would consider what to do with its Rare shareholding if actually contacted by Microsoft or Rare, but there hasn't been any such contact.”
