Nintendo received a heavy fine for violating anti-trust laws in Europe.
The European Commission has fined Nintendo $149 million euros (approximately $146.7 million U.S.) for breaking antitrust rules.
As detailed last week, Nintendo, and seven of its European distributors, were accused by the commission of illegally collaborating to limit cross-border sales of Nintendo products during the 1990s.
The Associated Press quotes a Nintendo Japanese spokesman as stating that the company did not contest the charges, but intends to appeal the amount of the fine, chiefly because the company itself helped to build the case by voluntarily contributing information.
