Portable Media Devices, a unit of Pocket PC Films, has formed a joint venture with Pocketainment to market and distribute the Pocket Pix Cartridge, a device that can trnsfrom the Game Boy Advance and Game Boy Advance SP into a multimedia viewer.
The device consists of an adapter that plugs into a GBA’s game slot, which then can accept a 64 MB Smart Disc card. Also included in the bundle are a headphone jack, a free sample movie, a code to download another free film and a USB cable to facilitate data transfers.
The Pocket Pix Cartridge will debut at next month’s E3 (in the Portable Media Device’s booth) and is scheduled to hit retailers “shortly thereafter” with an MSRP of $59.95. A version of the device, minus the SD card itself, will also go on sale for $39.95.
