Could this be the beginning of the end for the Gamecube?
Eidos Interactive, a company best known for published titles such as Hitman 2, and games from the Tomb Raider series announced that they will no longer produce games for the Nintendo Gamecube.
Eidos, despite reporting profits last month, has cut Nintendo in the interest of using resources where they are best utilized. Eidos reported that Nintendo games only represented a small fraction of profits for 2003. Last month, Nintendo temporarily stopped production of Nintendo Gamecubes due to slow sales.
"The GameCube is a declining business," said Mike McGarvey, Eidos CEO.
