Motorola will be releasing a wireless multiplayer adapter in Japan.
Motorola (more known for its beeper line), and Nintendo of Japan are teaming up to bring a wireless adapter accessory for Nintendo’s Game Boy Advance SP.
Motorola which will developing all the components internally promises up to "5 player" compatibility. A 2.4GHz strength radio frequency will be used and is based on a 32-bit ROSC architecture baseband processor which theorectically should make for lagless multiplayer gameplay.
Two titles slated to take advantage of the new technology are already in development and will be out in Japan by 2004. Both titles are based on Nintendo's lucrative Pokemon license, Pokemon FireRed and Pokemon LeafGreen, not exact names due to translation quirks.
