Greetings fellow gamers! My name is Jeremy Gard, and I am a new part of the VGLN staff. I would like to thank the rest of the VGLN staff for accepting me into this new family. I thought I could start out by telling everyone a little about myself. I am in my second semester as a freshman at Indiana University Bloomington. I’m majoring in Biology and am working on getting into the School of Optometry. I hope to one day open my own Optometry office. Now, I know what you are thinking. Biology? Optometry? What the hell do those have to do with gaming? The answer? Nothing. However, though I am not majoring in a gaming related field does not stop me being a very hardcore gamer and game critic. I play a game, I beat the hell out of it, and I voice my opinion on it. I find that most games out in the market are extremely easy and have very little replay value. Therefore, I rarely buy games anymore. I usually borrow or rent games so I can finish them quickly and not worry about blowing fifty bucks on something I’ll only play once in a blue moon. I enjoy many different genres of games. I am a fan of RPGs, action/adventures, war and strategy, puzzle, and first person shooters. Though I don’t play that many sport games, it doesn’t necessarily mean I don’t like them. However, multi-player games are my true passion. A weekend spent with friends and games including, but not limited to, Halo, DDR, Mario Kart, Mario Party, and Age of Empires can spell out one hell of a time. Besides gaming, my other major hobby is music, both playing it and listening to it. In high school I was a band geek, and I continue to be one unto this day. Though I don’t play music at college, I do go home during the fall and help my old high school marching band (one of the best in the state, might I add) as staff. I also enjoy movies, reading the classics, and eating Pizza King Pizza…for reference purposes.
Anyway, I would like to, once again, thank VGLN for welcoming me as a new member of their staff, and I hope you all enjoy my pieces. If you are ever offended in any way, I apologize. What I write is my opinion, not the opinion of my colleagues. If you enjoy the piece, great. Toss an e-mail my way and let me know. Also, if there is a game that VGLN hasn’t covered and you want it covered, give me a shout. I’ll see what I can do. Thanks and happy gaming!
