200 Finalist fight for the honor of nation's best gamer.
The United Cyber Games Association (UCGA) announced that the Samsung World Cyber Games 2003 USA Finals will be held from August 19th – August 20th at the Irvine Spectrum in Irvine, California.
“California’s turnout has been amazing throughout the competition, so Irvine is the perfect location for the U.S. Finals,” said Joe Moss, Executive Director of UCGA. “The Irvine Spectrum is a fun venue in the heart of Southern California and will be a great place for all our U.S. finalists to have a good time.”
More than 200 finalists from across the country will attend the U.S. Finals and the top 17 players from Irvine will win a free trip to Korea to attend the Grand Final in Seoul from October 12th-18th, where they will compete against the world’s top gamers for $350,000 in cash and prizes. The 200 U.S. Finalists have been selected through a series of 360 qualifying tournaments held across the country from May through June during the Samsung WCG 2003 USA Tournament, also sponsored by NVIDIA and CompUSA.
In Irvine, the U.S. Finalists will each be awarded a PC and a Samsung Flat 19” CRT monitor and giveaways will include over 50 more Samsung monitors for audience members.
