Ed Bender to become TLC Industries' Marketing Director.
Ed Bender, President of TLC Industries, Inc., (http://www.tlcind.com) announces the appointment of James Hills to the position of Marketing Director. He will be responsible for the company’s marketing efforts and recruiting new game content for FlexArcade and NextArcade.
Hills, whose experience includes nearly a decade working with and promoting independent game developers, formerly wrote for washingtonpost.com and ran CyPR Media, an independent PR agency dedicated to promoting game developers. He brings experience as both a member of the media and a communications professional in addition to a lifetime of passion for video, arcade and computer gaming to his new position at TLC Industries.
The Chicago-area cabinet manufacturer founded in 1985 has built over 60,000 Golden Tee golf games and over 300,000 total cabinets for such companies as Midway, Namco, and Sega. TLC Industries is now preparing to launch its own platform, FlexArcade, with an initial library of four titles, at this year’s AMOA Show in Las Vegas. The system is powered by FlexWare, a proprietary, patent-pending software program that converts high-powered PC content to run on an arcade game framework. Both stand-up and sit-down models will be available.
NextArcade is the company’s answer for the home market. By bringing a constant stream of new arcade-like PC games to the home, creating a community of gamers and a selection of control panels, entertainment centers and even authentic 19 and 27 inch arcade cabinets designed to play NextArcade games, TLC Industry brings the excitement of the arcade into the home.
“I look forward to helping TLC Industries expand by working to create FlexArcade and NextArcade success stories,” states Hills. “It is an honor to be a part of a company with such a strong legacy of balancing high quality craftsmanship with an excitement for innovation. The future is bright for the company and I look forward to helping make it happen.”
