nVidia hardware to be preferred graphics platform for WOW.
nVidia Corporation today announced a collaboration with Blizzard Entertainment for the company's upcoming MMORPG, World of Warcraft.
nVidia's graphics processing units (GPUs) will be the "preferred graphics hardware platform" for the title. Additionally, according to the agreement, nVidia and Blizzard will "engage in strategic co-marketing activities " as part of nVidia's "The Way It's Meant to Be Played" program, which is meant to ensure a hassle-free experience for gamers using nVidia cards.
The two companies also plan to randomly give away 1,000 closed beta accounts for WoW. Interested players should visit www.nzone.com immediately, as sign-ups will be held for one week only, starting today.
Paul Sams, senior vice president of business operations at Blizzard Entertainment, commented, "With a track record of performance, compatibility and reliability, it's easy to recommend nVidia GPUs for those about to begin their journey into the World of Warcraft."
