Gizmondo gets U.K launch date

Mobile device will ship at the end of October.

Gizmondo Europe Ltd, a subsidiary of Tiger Telematics Inc., has announced a U.K. launch date of October 29 for its Gizmondo mobile device.

Following its U.K. release, the Gizmondo will be brought to other markets in 2005, including the rest of Europe, North America, Australia and New Zealand.

Steve Carroll, CTO, Gizmondo Europe Ltd stated, "Everything's gone according to schedule and now we can enjoy the fruition of our hard work. I'm very proud that the world is now able to enjoy our leading engineering and entrepreneurship. It's going to be fun out there."

In addition to playing games, the Gizmondo portable includes such features as a movie player, an MP3 player, SMS and MMS communication, GPS-navigation and a high-resolution digital camera.
