Recent teenage murder causes controversy.
Take-Two Interactive Software label Rockstar Games finds itself embroiled in more controversy, this time in England. Following the murder of 14-year old Stefan Pakeerah by 17-year old Warren Le Blanc, Pakeerah’s parents called for a ban of the game Manhunt, which Le Blanc apparently was a self-avowed fan of. Reuters quoted Patrick Pakeerah as saying, “Stefan's murder compares to how the game is set out, using weapons like hammers and knives. If games like this influence kids, they should be taken off the shelves." England’s largest electronics chain, Dixons, has responded to the outcry over the game by pulling Manhunt from its shelves. Le Blanc reportedly killed his victim by beating him with a claw hammer and by stabbing him with a knife.
