Mad Catz Interactive has released financial details from the first quarter of its 2005 fiscal year.
In the three months ending June 30, 2004, net sales tallied $16.7 million, a 6.1 percent dip from last fiscal year’s first quarter total of $17.8 million. The company had a net loss of $0.3 million ($0.01 per share) versus a net loss of $1.3 million ($0.02 per share) one year ago.
Mad Catz attributed the dip in sales in its first quarter to “slow industry sales in the European market and the shift of sales from the first to second fiscal quarter in the United States as consumers delayed hardware purchases in anticipation of the PlayStation 2 console price cut that came late in the first quarter.”
