Unfortunately the beta will only be open in Japan, for now.
Square Enix Co., Ltd. is now actively looking for beta testers for its upcoming PlayStation 2 title, Front Mission Online (FMO).
However, the beta test is currently only for Japanese players. Those interested should have a PS2 broadband kit and a high-speed Internet connection. Applicants should sign up on the Front Mission Online page no later than August 27.
The beta test will occur over three phases, with the last two phases testing the PC version's compatibility with the PS2 game; this is important since FMO will enable users of both versions to meet and play together (just as Square Enix's Final Fantasy XI allowed). The first phase begins this fall. FMO will be released some time in 2005.
