ATI ships first million of PCI Express Cards

ATI Technologies Inc. today announced that the company has reached the one million mark for units shipped of its native PCI Express visual processing unit (VPU). Rick Bergman, Senior Vice President Marketing and General Manager, Desktop, ATI Technologies, commented, "PCI-E is a major innovation in the computer architecture and there is a rapid transition in the market to this bus standard. Our huge success in winning the OEM PCI Express business attests to the fact that our PCI Express products are robust, high-performing and are a cut above the rest." ATI's family of PCI Express graphics solutions, which launched on June 1 at COMPUTEX, includes the RADEON X300, RADEON X600 and RADEON X800 (consumer and commercial customers) and the FireGL V3100, FireGL V3200, FireGL V5100 and FireGL V7100 (professional customers).
