Sony Computer Entertainment America (SCEA) and 989 Sports have announced the release of the PlayStation 2 title Athens 2004: The Official Video Game of the Olympic Games in North American retail outlets.
Players will be able to represent one of 64 countries and 800 corresponding athletes in the title as they compete in four Arcade and eight Competition modes of play. Sports represented in the game include Track &Field, Swimming, Gymnastics, Shooting, Archery, Weightlifting and Equestrian.
The videogame also supports use of the PlayStation 2 Dance Mat, allowing gamers to use the device to compete in events.
Developed by Eurocom, Athens 2004 is rated “E” (Everyone) and carries an MSRP of $39.99.
