A single player mode will be added to the Xbox version of the series.
Battlefield: Modern Combat, the upcoming console title from Electronic Arts and Digital Illusions, will feature an offline single player mode in addition to its online, multiplayer feature element. Now due out for the PlayStation 2 and Xbox in the fall of 2005, versus an original target release date of this fall, the decision to add the offline mode was made as a result of “consumer feedback.” The game’s online mode will support up to 24 players per game, on both platforms. "Adding more time to the development cycle of the game will result in a more expansive feature set and a more compelling product," commented Greg Richardson, general manager of EA Partners. "We are confident that this decision will result in a stronger title and continue the advancement of the Battlefield brand."
