Electronic Arts Inc. today announced plans to release a special limited edition DVD for The Sims 2.
The special DVD version of the game will initially "only be available through pre-orders at major retailers" and is a North American exclusive. This first DVD in The Sims franchise includes the full game in addition to the following bonus content: Expert Interviews, Film Making 101, The Sims 2 Cinema & The Sims 2 Outtakes, and Digital Goodies & Movies and Screens of the Game.
Lucy Bradshaw, Executive Producer of the game at EA's Maxis studio, said, "Not only will players enjoy endless hours of gameplay filled with numerous adventures, they'll be able to enhance their Sims experience with the bonus features included in this special edition DVD."
The biggest change to The Sims 2 is that players will actually have control over their Sims for an entire lifetime; they can "take their Sims from the cradle to the grave."
The DVD version will retail for the same price as the CD-ROM version with an estimated price of $49.99. Both have an in-store date of September 17, 2004.
