Codemaster's bringing soccer series across the Atlantic.

Codemasters today confirmed that Manchester United Soccer 2005 will hit the United States this October on PC-DVD. Now one of Europe’s most elite teams will give American soccer fans a taste of what its like to play at the team’s home ground, Old Trafford.

Manchester United Soccer 2005 lets fans join the team and play alongside field legends Roy Keane, Wayne Rooney, Alan Smith, Ruud van Nistelrooy, and Cristiano Ronaldo. All players look and sound authentic and play with power, pace and precision identical to that of a real match.

"Manchester United is one of the most popular sports teams in the world with over 52 million fans. With an exploding fan base of 4.2 million in the U.S. we are very excited to bring this title to the U.S. market for the first time," said Marc Bennett, Codemasters President of North America. "Manchester United Soccer 2005 offers fans a truly immersive soccer experience with incredibly detailed character models, innovative control features like the Precision Trigger, and an advanced animation system that allows for faster action and more responsive gameplay."

Under the direction of manager Sir Alex Ferguson, gamers can choose to play classic, Career and Practice matches in hopes of honing skills that could lead the club to the top of the Premiership, similar to 1998-1999 “Treble” victory of the Premier League, the FA Cup and the European Cup.

Manchester United Soccer 2005 houses the latest skill moves, including the Quick 135-degree pass, dummies, fakes, positioning adjustment and more.
