New mag design as well as new content.
CMP Game Group informed VGLN.com today that Game Developer has revamped the magazine, expanding the types of information carried, and launching a new design.
Originally launched in 1994, Game Developer is the leading publication for game programmers and artists. The publication's expanded editorial is designed to appeal to all the professionals in the business of game creation, from game design, visual effects, and programming to production and publishing.
"As the videogame industry continues to evolve, there's a growing need for strong and diverse editorial content that keeps the community in touch with the current state of the market," said Jamil Moledina, managing editor, Game Developer magazine. "Game Developer will now provide a much more comprehensive running analysis of the whole industry, while retaining our depth of focus on core game development disciplines."
The first issue featuring the expanded content and new format will be distributed at the Electronic Entertainment Exposition (E3) in May in Los Angeles, marking the 10th anniversary of the publication.
Game Developer's new editorial content will include: * A "Necessary Evil" section covering business, legal and management issues within the community
* Profiles that highlight companies, products and people from a historical, political and economical standpoint
* Features about industry events and trends
* A "Heads Up Display" spread which talks about the latest news breakthroughs
* A "Thousand Words" section showcasing the art of game development
* Facts, figures and statistics on the status of the interactive entertainment market
* Quirky, fun, human interest stories
Game Developer magazine is published by the CMP Game Group and available through subscription services and news stands internationally. For more information, or to subscribe, visit http://www.gdmag.com.
