CMY to provide educational software for young children.
CMY Multimedia launches its international expansion by establishing its first satellite operation in Del Mar, California. The company is formalizing its entrance into the US market during the E3 Expo (May 12-14) Kentia Hall 6623 at the LA Convention Center in Los Angeles.
Founded in 1997 and headquartered in Spain, CMY multimedia is an educational software game company formed from the collaboration between teachers and computer professionals.
CMY Multimedia’s educational software games evolve in a game-playing type of environment where children enthusiastically practice an array of elementary, 1st – 6th grade, curriculum subjects. The students play adventures that challenge their knowledge and prompt them to creatively look for solutions to solve situations.
“CMY Multimedia games have the advantage of not being computer-assisted learning programs. Children review concepts of math, science, social studies, art and languages willingly, turning studying into a positive activity. The games’ visual designs are very artistic and the music is engaging. Children feel like they are part of the plot and want to continue playing until the end of the adventure,” said Javier Avila, Director of Business Development in the United States.
The company is investing heavily in software development, translation and localization, and will launch several of its software games in English and Spanish for the PC, Mac and Linux platforms. With a new office in Del Mar, California, CMY is ready to service the Anglo and Hispanic markets in the United States and it is strategically positioned to eventually expand into Latin America. “We believe there is a great niche market for entertaining, deductive software games, where education and entertainment are combined, and we hope to soon have our games available to children all over the Americas,” said Antonio Romero, Director of Marketing and Sales.
CMY Multimedia goes beyond providing educational games. Its philosophy is to make software games that contain no violence and instil a sense of purpose, promoting civic values and self-confidence. The company is firm in these beliefs and in November 26, 2002, CMY established in Spain the “Day for “Non-violent Games,” joined this year by Amnesty International.
CMY multimedia products are a great way for teachers to educate their students, a constructive way for parents to entertain their kids and a fun way for children to learn.
