New service will allow mobile users to find songs they've heard in the past 24 hours on the radio.
YES Networks and BMG will announce, at NAB, the launch of a program allowing fans to find out more about songs they hear on 2,315 U.S. radio stations. Users can identify any song that played in the last 24 hours by browsing to http://mobile.yes.com and selecting their radio station and the time they heard the song.
By dialing #YES (937) on their mobile phones, callers will have access to the playlists of MTV, MTV2, VH1 and 2,500 radio stations, and enable the audience to respond to any song that played in the last 24 hours, more than 600,000 per day. By simply stating the name of the station and the time the song played, the caller will hear a sample of the song as well as information about the artist, track and album. Participants can rate the song, download the ring tone, buy the CD and tell friends about the song they have discovered.
YES Networks is partnering with Jellyvision, Inc., best known for creating award-winning, best- selling interactive games such as YOU DON'T KNOW JACK and Who Wants to Be a Millionaire, to create the user interface for the phone service. Demos of the new service debut Monday, April 19, available at http://www.yes.com/demo.
