Atari bringing Godzilla to Xbox and PS2

Single player game will take big lizard to major cities to "play".

Atari, Inc. informed VGLN.com today that the comany is planning to release Godzilla: Save the Earth for the PlayStation 2 and Xbox this fall.

The title will feature a single player element along with an online, multiplayer game, for up to four players in head-to-head, free-for-all and team-based two-on-two combat. The game’s single player storyline will focus on Godzilla attempting to fend off a band of aliens bent on stealing a cracked genetic code.

San Francisco, Los Angeles, Tokyo, Osaka and New York will be represented in the game, as will over 18 different Toho movie monsters, such as Godzilla 2000 and 90s, King Ghidorah, Gigan, Mothra, SpaceGodzilla and Biollante.

Pipeworks is developing Godzilla: Save the Earth.
