Buena Vista names new President for Asia Pacific location

Akira Matsumoto to take reigns in Asia.
Buena Vista Games has named Akira Matsumoto as president and general manager of the company’s Asia Pacific location. Matsumoto will ascend his new position on July 1, taking the place of current vice president and general manager, Shuji Utsumi, who is leaving the company to pursue other interests. Matsumoto has been with The Walt Disney Company for over 10 years, serving most recently as vice president and general manager of Disney Consumer Products Hardlines business in Japan. In his new role he will “drive video game publishing and development in the region,” as well as “manage the company's many relationships with Japan-based video game companies.”
