Looks like one of the big RPG hopefuls for the Xbox is officially dead.
Word out of Tokyo this morning is that Microsoft Game Studios has canceled its multiplayer online role-playing game in development for the Xbox, True Fantasy Live Online.
Reuters reports that the title was canned by Microsoft because it failed to live up to expectations. First announced way back in 2002, even before Xbox Live launched, the game was in development by Level-5 and seen as a way to lure Japanese consumers to the Xbox platform.
True Fantasy went through three launch date changes before finally seeing its plug pulled.
