Nintendo Co. has given its next home console the codename of “Revolution.”
But officials at the company are not viewing the device as a successor to the GameCube. “This won't be a continuation, but rather something entirely different,” stated senior managing director Yoshiro Mori at a recent analyst’s meeting.
Nintendo has raised research and development spending in its current fiscal year to 20.0 billion yen (approximately $180.0 million U.S.), an increase of more than 25.0 percent from the previous year.
